Birthday(s) in Bermuda – Part 3

Our final full day in Bermuda began with a big breakfast while we made plans to head to the beach!

Breakfast
                      Oatmeal forever ❤

Although we had visited the beach briefly on our day of scooter touring, we hadn’t really gotten a chance to relax in the pink sand or enjoy the cool waves. We decided to spend the day at Horseshoe Bay, one of Bermuda’s top rated and most beautiful beaches.

Once we arrived, we discovered that the beach definitely lived up to it’s reputation and was thankfully not very crowded.

The beach was very wide and peppered with wonderful rock formations that created quiet little coves to explore.

Robert and I walked up and down the beach, stopping for plenty of photo opp’s and to admire the “pink” sand.

The sand DOES have a slightly pink hue, thanks to tiny red organisms that grow under the coral reefs and get washed to shore.

When we made our way back to our towels, the rest of our group was hanging in the waves!

I of course had forgotten my swim shirt (bummer) and was nervous about getting too much sun on my back so Robert and I decided to climb some of the tall rocks for a great vantage point instead.

Difficult to tell from the photos but we were up pretty high!

After a full day in the sun, we headed back to the hotel to spend a little time at the pool before we got ready for a sunset booze cruise!

The hotel ferry provides a free sunset cruise for guests on Saturdays. The boat was stocked with cheese, crackers and fruit and of course free beer, wine and rum swizzle to wash it all down 😉

We enjoyed the surprisingly long, although windy ride. It was neat to see many of the same sights we had seen the previous day on our tour with Tony and be able to impart some of our new knowledge on the other hotel guests.

After the cruise we took a cab to dinner at Blu bar and grill.

Blu had a big menu and a little bit of everything. Our table ordered sushi, pasta, pizza and lobster!

We enjoyed recapping our fabulous vacation over our final supper.

The next day I woke up early to snap a few final pictures of our hotel before it was time for breakfast.

It began to rain heavily as we left for the airport and continued to do so for the next week! We were all happy to have gotten plenty of time in the sun ahead of the storms!

Although the dining was pricey, Bermuda was a lovely place with very kind people and I would love the chance to return someday! Thanks for following along with my recap, I promise to catch up with some yummy fall recipes while I’m planning our next adventure! Have a great week!
